Some of the most common applications for the large diameter flanges are for subsea / onshore pipelines and ASME pressure vessels.
Custom made large diameter flanges can come as large as the customer requires and made to their design specs. Our extensive heavy-duty manufacturing capability combined with a large inventory of plate stock allows us to meet the most complex and challenging quality and delivery requirements. We leverage numerous fabrication methods, including plate burning, CNC and conventional machining, automated flange drilling, robotic welding with automatic positioning, and many other state-of-the-art technologies to produce flanges with precise tolerances and fine surface finishes. Our expertise spans all flange types, including blind and reducing flanges, spectacle and paddle blinds, O-rings and Victaulic rings, adapter rings, and many other custom flanges. We can provide thermal stress relief, die-stamp/etching identification markings, and apply protective coatings, all in-house.
As an ISO compliant manufacturing company, we perform both in-process and final inspections to ensure flange quality. In addition to traditional dimensional measurement equipment, we use high-end laser devices to verify tolerances. We offer non-destructive testing (NDT) on flanges for the most stringent applications to confirm they are defect-free. We provide material traceability and inspection reports to document that our products meet the highest standards of excellence.

Those overlay weld tube sheets are the key parts of water cooling pressure vessels.
Weld overlay melts one metal—the cladding layer—onto the surface of another metal of similar composition and melting point, forming a base material that is resistant to corrosion and wear. The highly versatile process may require multiple passes to properly mix and bond the metals, while meeting the design and material requirements of the cladding layer.
Customers commonly use weld overlay to balance corrosion resistant properties and costs, often coating an inexpensive metal, like carbon steel, with a more expensive base layer, such as stainless steel. Our weld overlay process uses readily available metals, reducing lead times, for a wide range of applications, including tube sheet, flanges, fittings, pipes, valves, pressure vessel nozzles and tube sheets for heat exchangers.
Tube Sheets and flange manufacturing is one of Openex's specialties. We're a tube sheet/flange maufacturer that specializes in almost all tube sheets up to 12 meters in diameter and special flanges in all styles that measure up to 10 meters O.D based on your requirements.
We have a large array of multi-spindle milling-drilling CNCs. With our CNC array, the dimension tolerance, including flatness, parallelism, perpendicular, circularity, and cylindricity can be achieved to an unrivaled tight level.
Except for tens of multi-spindle CNCs, we also have more than 11 deep-hole milling-drilling CNCs to meet some special tasks which might need holes deep up to 1200mm.
Quality Assurance
One of the essential workhorses for product verification is our Coordinate Measuring Machine(CMM). We use it every day to qualify rapid prototypes and machined parts that have complex geometries with tight tolerances.
At Present, we have two ZEISS CMMs-MMZ G large bridge CMM and ACCURA II bridge CMM, and one laser tracker Leica AT901.
