Large Scale Machining Services

Openex produces a vast array of extra-large parts – up to 250 tons – with our extra large Horizontal Boring Mills. Forgings, fabricated weldments, and large cast components can all be machined to your specific dimensions.

Openex has the equipment necessary to machine your finished product to perfect precision. Metal removal, turning, grinding, saw-cutting, milling – you name it. Openex uses our machining capacity as part of a complete turn-key manufacturing process and as a stand-alone service, providing customers the capacity and scale to complete their large components.

Horizontal & CNC Boring

With cutting-edge equipment, Openex produces components with dimensions up to 25 meters x 8 meters with a 9m*5m rotary table. With five-axis boring capacity and a 250-ton crane, we can produce complex, large components with precision tolerances of ± .0005 inches.

Horizontal, Vertical & CNC Turning

With some of the most significant equipment in the industry, including three- and four-axis turning machines, our collection of horizontal, vertical, and CNC lathes allow us to handle parts with dimensions as large as 10 meters in diameter and 6 meters in length while maintaining a ± .001 inch tolerance.

Planner & CNC Vertical Milling

Through the years, Openex has invested in the equipment to be a top supplier for many of the world’s leading industries. Openex has over 16 large gantry machining centers (up to 40m*8m*7m), 11 large(up to 25.7 meters on the X) Horizontal Boring Mills and 15 sets of large Vertical lathe and milling machine(up to 22 meters on diameter). This type of capacity ensures your project goes smoothly without any concerns.

Quality Assurance

One of the essential workhorses for product verification is our Coordinate Measuring Machine(CMM). We use it every day to qualify machined parts that have complex geometries with tight tolerances.

At Present, we have two ZEISS CMMs-MMZ G large bridge CMM and ACCURA II bridge CMM, and one laser tracker Leica AT901.
