Pictured here are end plates for vacuum chambers made of stainless steel grade 304L.
There are two different sizes for all the 80 pieces of end plates, one is 1610mm in outer diameter and 30mm in thickness, the other one is Diameter 1484mmx Thickness 22mm.
Our quality control on the flatness of the plate and the tight tolerance of the holes have been highly appreciated by the customer.
Grade 304L has lower carbon content ≤ 0.03% than the most popular stainless steel grade 304 with a carbon content ≤ 0.08%, although it is appr. USD70-80/ton higher than grade 304, but has better performance against pit corrosion than the later. Pit corrosion happens during welding, when the temperature on the basic metal material reaches 450-900℃, at this temperature chromium carbide generates, and chromium oxide(CrO)growth would be halted. CrO is a substance that can protect the metal from getting rust. The less carbon content, the less chromium carbide (Cr3C2),and the less possibility to halt the growth of CrO.
